- Below is a transcription of the talks that I had with the client from the start of the project until the end, we also met several times in which he discussed his opinions on the film which are noted below the social media messages. Overall I felt that the client was happy with the way we worked and he found it an enjoyable project to contribute on.
Kathryn PogueRight, I feel pushed to give you this. So this is my kind of idea. Second time lucky xI was wondering if you would allow me to use the song "Mary" for the assignment brief. To pass the piece I have to make a music video which shows a narrative such as the music video by kodaline - All I want http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtf7hC17IBM.My idea of the story is that I begin the story with a man walking down the road about 20, holding a battered boquet of flowers with monotone colours. We see him go towards a door and when he opens the door the whole screen goes white. It then goes into vibrant colours. We see a young girl, about 7 years old. She then holds a hand out and walks the camera into the house. We see her smile and then matches shot into the adult girl (aged 20), wearing the same kind of clothes or some transition. We then see the relationship develop, picnics, swing sets a lot of jokey stuff, throws pie in his face, teasing etc.But then we see an exchange of an argument where she throws a box of sweets of the counter and he leaves. We see him cry with the picture and the coulours are back to monotone with insertions of her face. He then picks up a boquet of flowers and walks out of his house. He sets off walking from the beginning. He reaches a gate and looks up, we the audience see the little girls house but then it is in a graveyard and we see her grave with his flowers on it. - 21 February

- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Meetings with the ClientMary Production Meeting23rd February 2013 at 7:30pmPresent: Graham Woolley and Kathryn PogueKathryn opened the meeting and explained the concept in detail (can be found on the "My Ideas page on this blog") We then discussed the realities of this and the time pressures which we both face. Graham explained that at current he is time pressurised due to his new job and that he would be happy to be a client but doesn't want much participation within the filming of the project. He felt happy to sign the project off and felt that it would work well as an idea for a video. We then discussed my ideas on the casting of the film so that he could see who would be in the film and the locations which would be used. Graham stated that he liked the use of locations and the idea of the past and present timelines. We finished the meeting and decided to make another in May to give me time after I have returned from Spain to organise transport, expenses and equipment for the shoot.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Meetings with the ClientMary Production Meeting19th May 2013 at 8pmPresent: Graham Woolley and Kathryn PogueGraham opened the meeting and wanted to spend the time talking about the ownerships and rights of the final product and where we can and can't distribute the work.At this meeting we talked about the permissions and who had the ownership of the song in the end production. We decided that to make it clear that I would make a client consent form which Graham would sign, we also discussed the distribution of the film, Graham felt that it would be good to get the film publicised via his accounts online such as soundcloud.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Meetings with the ClientMary Production Meeting28th May 2013 at 8pmPresent: Graham Woolley and Kathryn PogueOur final meeting, we watched the final cut together and talked about how we felt it looked and Graham felt satisfied with the quality of the piece. It was decided that we would leave it at this stage as we both felt it served it's purpose and worked well with the song. It was then decided that the film was ready to distributed. We decided as a test run we would send out a survey and see how people felt about the film before fully launching the video to audiences.
